The lost is very big for not just New Orleans but also the state of Louisiana. This is a big lost to New Orleans because the people are the heart of the city. They bring the life to the city. The city wouldn't be what it with out the people that live there. They Bring that Cajan spice and also that southern hospitality. Some history about New Orleans is it was a big slave trading post for both Americans but also the French. The slave owners would allow slaves to have sunday off. From this they would go see the french opera or go to the park and play drums like back in Africa. From this jazz was born. Jazz is the biggest form of music in New Orleans. Now if people don't return to New Orleans the flavor, the spice and the heart will be dead because there will be no one there to continue it.
So if the people do not return to New Orleans then it would be a big change not just for the city or the state but also the country. You might be think how can this effect the whole country? This would be a big change because of the culture. For instance the food is a big thing. People all over eat southern food and they might not realize it but a lot of that food come from recipes from New Orleans. Also one of the biggest celebration in the country, Mardi Gra. Mardi Gra is not just getting extremely drunk or seeing boobs.
